Thai Kratom: Are You Feeling Productive Yet?
Of all strains of kratom, we would have to venture that Thai is one of the most unique. While this variety of kratom isn’t consistently a best seller, it has by far the most diehard following. The reason for this is that some seem to be affected by Thai kratom’s energetic effects in a more profound and positive way than with other strains, making the choice very simple.
After talking to many Thai kratom lovers, we boiled down their favorite effects from the strain and found that they are: productivity, energy, confidence, and persistence — all of which can be tremendously helpful in the modern world.
Interestingly, the native Thai people used the wild-growing kratom strains in their area for the same purposes, especially popular among manual laborers in the area, as it gave them clarity, energy and resistance to fatigue that would otherwise be hard to come by. Because of these effects, a large portion of the kratom community still loves it, and anyone considering trying a Thai strain could be well rewarded for the effort.
Effects
While we briefly went over a few effects of Thai kratom, the list was far from comprehensive considering the wide range of properties this strain has. The primary effects are:

Energy & Stimulation
Energetic and stimulating qualities are the hallmark of any Thai strain. These effects tend to be much longer lasting than traditional stimulants, such as caffeine. Additionally, due to the interplay of energetic and pain relief properties, these energetic effects tend to be experienced as much smoother and less erratic, and also have less side effects such as digestion issues, sweating, discomfort, than caffeine does, and this stimulation also contribute to why this is a great kratom strain for weight loss.
Because of these factors, we have heard from a few that have dropped their morning coffee for a this strain, and in one anecdotal case, the user was able to successfully switch from an amphetamine stimulant to Thai kratom for attention deficit disorder, though we do not suggest making any changes of this nature without consulting a licensed physician.
Mood Lifting
Like many other kratom strains, Thai, especially red vein thai, tends to have fairly positive effects on mood. These effects can additionally contribute fending of fatigue, mental tiredness and can be a rejuvenating influence in the middle of difficult work or general stress. Unlike many other strains, this one is best used early in the day, as some experience difficulty sleeping if it is taken too late, and this stimulation is one of the reasons this variety isn’t commonly used in enhanced leaf UEI variety kratom extracts.
Increased Focus
While there has been no serious research on this front, there is much anecdotal evidence that suggests that these strains can help with focus and clarity of thought, as evidenced previously. There is much speculation that these effects have to do with the interplay between the plant’s energetic and relaxant effects.
Pain Relief
While this variety overall isn’t the best strain for pain relief, varieties such as red vein Thai can occasionally provide strong pain relief along with energetic effects. For those with mild pain, who don’t want to sacrifice energy levels, this may be a good choice.
Popular Thai Kratom Varieties
There are a few varieties of Thai kratom, distinguishable by the vein color, which tend to have slightly different effects. Red vein Thai tends to be the most popular, as it blends the best of both worlds, whereas white vein, and especially green vein are less common.
Red Vein Thai
- Pain Relief – 4 to 8 / 10
- Energy – 5 to 8 / 10
Green Vein Thai
- Pain Relief – 3 to 6 / 10
- Energy – 6 to 9 / 10
White Vein Thai
- Pain Relief – 1 to 5 / 10
- Energy – 7 to 10 / 10
Thai Kratom Dosage
As stated earlier, the side effects of Thai kratom are much less likely than many other strains, such as Bali kratom strains. Because of this, there is a bit more leniency in dosages. For typical dosages of Thai kratom:
- Threshold – 1.5 grams
- Low Dose – 1.5 to 3.0 grams
- Moderate – 3.0 to 5.0 grams
- High – 5.0 to 8.0 grams
By exceeding over 8 grams, however, some side effects may occur. Because of this, it is a good idea to start low and find your own “sweet spot”.
Thai kratom can be a huge asset in many areas if it is used correctly, because of this, I suggest everyone have a bit in case the situation warrants it.
