Once again, WebMD and the government are trying to take your right to choose your medication. They say that Kratom is a killer and should be banned.
Below is an email I received from American Kratom Assoc. Please read it and take it seriously. Please participate by signing the petition and leaving your story of what kratom has done for you on the WebMD website. This is vitally important for all of us to continue with this powerful and safe herb.

There is still time to help to stop the FDA’s efforts to ban kratom. We are ramping up our efforts after the explosive tweet sent out late last week that blames the opioid crisis on kratom. Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, MD and current Acting FDA Director Janet Woodcock, MD are on the warpath to ban kratom and they think you and I have gotten too complacent to do a damn thing about it. |

If you’ve already donated…THANK YOU! We are so thankful for your generosity. Gottlieb and Woodcock are teaming up to finish the job Gottlieb tried to do in 2016 to ban kratom – BUT HE FAILED! Gottlieb tried again in 2017 to ban kratom with a new, trumped up collection of lies about kratom – AND HE FAILED AGAIN! Now, this corrupt duo is back at it, and this time they are going around the Controlled Substances Act that requires solid proof before any substance can be banned. Gottlieb made the outrageous claim on his Twitter account that he was “convinced kratom is fueling the opioid crisis.” Acting FDA Commissioner Woodcock immediately agreed on her Twitter account. Former Assistant Secretary of Health Brett Giroir, MD, had previously rejected the FDA’s claims against kratom, and Giroir just responded to Gottlieb’s Twitter temper tantrum about failing to prove kratom was dangerous. This is what Dr. Giroir said: “FDA doesn’t schedule; it only recommends. FDA’s recommendation was rejected because of embarrassingly poor evidence & data, and a failure to consider overall public health. If kratom is fueling opioid addiction, then prove it; and then the new HHS Assistance Secretary for Health should reconsider.” But it is clear the FDA is not going to try to get HHS or the DEA to schedule kratom right now. The FDA doesn’t think they have to follow the law anymore. The FDA is trying right now to enact a nationwide de-facto ban on kratom by calling every gram of kratom you have an “adulterated drug.” It is a sneaky way to avoid the law, and if we let them get away with this dangerous power-grab, it makes the FDA the sole decision-maker on kratom being banned. That’s where I need your help. In 2016 we were strong – AND I MEAN REALLY STRONG! The truth is, since then many of our fellow advocates have gotten soft. They believe the nay-sayers who say the battle was won in 2016. Those nay-sayers claim the AKA is just trying to bleed money out of kratom advocates – and they have made it a blood sport to attack the AKA. We have stayed focused on our mission despite the sniping from within our own community, and we are winning in the states with the Kratom Consumer Protection Act. But the corrupt power-regulators in the FDA know that, and they are launching the most aggressive attack on kratom yet. It started just over a week ago with a seizure of kratom products in a pretty large kratom vendor in Florida. BUT THE COURT PLEADINGS THAT CLAIM EVERY GRAM OF KRATOM IS ADULTERATED IS THE REAL STORY. The FDA and the Department of Justice claim in that court complaint that all kratom is adulterated and dangerous. These corrupt regulators cannot win on the science, so they want to trump up a bunch of lies to get a Judge to agree with them. This is a war, it is real, and it is deadly serious. |

We have to tell the naysayers who claim AKA has been overstating the threat to kratom from the FDA. They build themselves up by criticizing AKA, and they have duped a lot of our former advocates into believing them. BUT NOW WE HAVE TO FIGHT BACK, AND WE NEED EVERY KRATOM ADVOCATE BACK IN THE FOLD. The corrupt FDA establishment and Scott Gottlieb are going to circumvent the law and make every kratom consumer a criminal. Unless we dig deep and hire the best team of lawyers to fight the FDA, and we respond by showing the corrupt power-grab by the FDA that is abusing the laws Congress itself enacted on deciding whether a substance is dangerous or not – then kratom will be banned. Here is the hard truth: Currently, only about 4% of kratom advocates on our email list donate to the American Kratom Association. Only 4% shoulder the financial burden of a fight that takes hundreds of thousands of dollars EVERY MONTH. This is not sustainable against an FDA who has an almost unlimited budget. This is why we need your help more than ever. We need you to stand up with all of the “Kratom Warriors” and donate today. Any amount would make a huge difference. Will you rise to the occasion and help fund the fight?
Dr. Scott Gottlieb and Dr. Janet Woodcock have ignited the most dangerous threat to keeping kratom legal we have seen to date. It’s not about the DEA. IT IS ABOUT A ROGUE FEDERAL AGENCY IGNORING THE LAW AND ABUSING THEIR AUTHORITY TO CREATE A DE-FACTO NATIONAL BAN ON KRATOM. Kratom needs your help now. We cannot waste a single minute.
